Make It Yourself

You can make a hand spindle!

Make a hand spindle

Here’s what you need:
a 12″ wooden dowel stick
a 2″-3″ wooden toy car wheel
sandpaper
small cup hook (optional)
sandpaper
glue

Make sure the dowel stick and hole for the toy car wheel are the same size. Use the sandpaper to go over the stick and wheel very lightly to get off any rough surfaces. Put a few small drops of glue on the inside hole of the wheel. Slide the stick through the wheel, leaving two inches of the stick on one end. Let dry. You can fasten the small cup hook on the end of the dowel stick.

Ready to spin!
